Melora Gregory has enjoyed passionately teaching alignment-based Yoga since 1993 and is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500. She recently developed and taught a Yoga Teacher Training class entitled Experiential Anatomy of the Pelvic Muscles at the Maine Yoga Festival. Melora co-created a 2 credit course at USM, which she taught for 5 years, entitled Yoga and Feminism. She was a member of Sea Change Yoga, a non-profit bringing yoga to underserved populations for 7 years. Melora taught Yoga and Yamuna Body Rolling® at Bridge Studio, a designated Trauma Informed Yoga Studio for 7 years, and at Portland Yoga Studio for 20 years, owning that studio from 2004-8. She has been a weekly yoga and body rolling teacher at UNE in Portland for over 25 years. Melora has been teaching yoga and mindfulness practices to Seniors at Woodfords Church in Portland since 2015. She has taught weeklong yoga and Yamuna retreats at castles in Italy for six years, on beaches in Costa Rica, in the jungle of Belize, and on Maine's own Monhegan Island for 13 summers.
Practicing Yamuna Body Rolling® since 2003, Melora certified to teach YBR® in 2009, and was impressed with the therapeutic benefits of the deep tissue release and creation of space in the joints. Inspired to further train in the YBR® method she completed the Foot Fitness Certification in 2011, and the Advanced Ball Certification in 2012. Every second year she certifies in various areas including Pelvic Floor, Organ Systems and Deeper Hip Work.
Melora currently enjoys teaches both Yoga and Yamuna Body Rolling® classes online, privately, and in person at Leaping Waters in South Portland. She also gives workshops at various Greater Portland area yoga studios. To learn more, go to MeloraYoga.com.
