Sound Integration ~ Foundations Remembering the Language of Sound
Sound Integration
Sound & Listening Practices
Foundations: Remembering the Language of Sound
An experiential introduction to sound, vibration, and listening practices.
February 5, 6 & 7, 2027
Friday 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Sound is something we experience with our entire body—not simply with our ears.
In this course you will begin exploring the foundations of sound healing and learn how different instruments, rhythms, tones, frequencies, silence, and listening practices can shape an experience.
This course emphasizes what you are actually hearing and experiencing, rather than relying solely on claims about what particular frequencies are "supposed" to do.
We will explore:
• The fundamentals of sound and vibration
• Active listening and developing the ear
• How instruments create different sonic experiences
• Working with sound tools
• Volume, proximity, pacing, and participant comfort
• The relationship between sound, attention, relaxation, and embodied experience
• Basic ethics and scope of practice
• Designing and facilitating a simple sound experience
You will have opportunities to listen, experiment, practice, and begin developing your own approach to working with sound.
This course is appropriate for beginners as well as practitioners who want a stronger foundation in therapeutic sound practices.
No previous sound-healing training is required.
Part of the Heart of Connection educational series.
